Short answer
We source CDU and TCS loop filter cartridges and housings to your filter spec, for factory testing, loop flushing and side-stream polishing where your design allows it. Published CDU datasheets commonly list 25 µm standard with 50 µm optional on the secondary loop (Rittal). We make no fit claims: send the micron rating, rating basis, size, media and fluid, and we quote within one business day.
The problem
Engineering sets a micron rating, rating basis, size and media; procurement then needs a second source with real lead times. Most search results for CDU filters are manufacturers, not suppliers who will quote against your spec.
What to send
- Micron rating and rating basis (nominal, absolute or beta ratio)
- Cartridge size and end cap
- Media and seal material
- Fluid, temperature and flow
- Quantity and delivery schedule
What we supply
- Pleated jumbo high-flow cartridges (HSC series) for side-stream and flush stages.
- Standard 10" and 20" cartridges in 2.5" and 4.5" diameters for makeup water prefiltration, polishing and RO pretreatment.
- Housings for standard and Big Blue–style cartridges.
- Filter bags are available on request.
HSC series pleated jumbo cartridges
The HSC-170 is 7 3/4" × 30 3/4" with 170 sq ft of media, 105 gpm recommended and 150 gpm max. Standard pleated polyester versions come in 0.35, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 150 micron (140°F max); all-polypropylene versions are absolute rated at 0.2, 0.35, 0.45 and 1 micron (176°F max).

Published filtration figures
| Loop | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| TCS / CDU secondary | About 25 µm inline, ≤50 µm acceptable, side-stream under 5 µm | OCP; ASHRAE TC9.9 |
| Facility water into the CDU | Primary filter 200 µm or finer | OCP |
| CDU to liquid cooling loop | Cartridges 1–25 µm | Fil-Trek |
| Makeup water | 1 µm where possible | OCP Modular TCS |
Your equipment maker's filter spec sets the requirement. Send us that spec and we'll quote to it.

Questions and answers
Can you supply CDU filters to our spec?
Send the filter spec (micron rating and rating basis, cartridge size, end cap, media, fluid, temperature and flow). We quote media that's documented to meet it, or tell you we can't.
Is a 5 micron filter better than a 25 micron filter?
Finer isn't automatically better. A finer element captures smaller particles but loads faster and adds pressure drop. Published guidance for TCS loops is about 25 µm inline, with ≤50 µm acceptable and finer side-stream filtration under 5 µm (OCP; ASHRAE TC9.9). Your equipment maker's spec governs.
What filtration does OCP describe for liquid cooling loops?
OCP documents describe about 25–50 µm for the TCS loop, a primary filter of 200 µm or finer on facility water, and makeup water filtered to 1 µm where possible.
Do you stock stainless cartridge filter housings?
We quote housings for standard and Big Blue–style cartridges. Send the size, connection and pressure rating and we'll quote what matches.
What micron rating do CDU secondary (TCS) loop filters typically use?
Published CDU datasheets commonly list 25 µm as standard with 50 µm optional on the secondary loop (Rittal CDU In-Rack datasheet). Final ratings are set by your design and the equipment maker's spec. Send us your filter spec and we'll quote to it.
Can you second-source a filter cartridge we currently buy from another supplier?
Send the micron rating and rating basis (nominal or absolute), cartridge length and diameter, end cap, media, seal material, fluid, temperature and flow, and we'll source to that spec. Quotes within one business day.
What information do you need to quote filters for a CDU bill of materials?
Micron rating and basis, cartridge size, end cap, media, seal material, fluid, temperature, flow and annual quantity. Email sales@filterbridgesupply.com or call (657) 500-0938.
Do you supply spares kits to ship with our units?
We quote spare cartridges by part number in case or kit quantities to your spec.
How fast do you quote?
Quotes within one business day. Call (657) 500-0938 or email sales@filterbridgesupply.com.
