What to check before you order

This page does not say this cartridge works in any particular housing or swaps for any other brand's cartridge. Compare these first:

  1. Diameter and length. This part is 6" OD x 40". High-flow cartridges come in several diameters, so check your vessel's spec.
  2. Seal and handle end. The manufacturer uses an O-ring seal with a handle for push/pull installation. Confirm your vessel's seal design and gasket material.
  3. Flow direction. Inside-out. Check that your vessel is built for that direction.
  4. Nominal vs absolute. This is 5 micron nominal. Tell us if your spec requires absolute.
  5. Certification. If your application requires NSF/ANSI 61 or 372, put it in your request.

Where it's used

The manufacturer lists HHFC applications as RO systems, water, coolants, food and beverage, wastewater, seawater, desalination, chemicals, electronics and power. (Source: manufacturer's catalog.) For RO pre-filtration, see commercial RO pretreatment filters.

FAQ

How much flow can one HHFC40-5 handle?
The manufacturer lists a maximum of 350 gpm. Real flow depends on your water and your vessel design.
What does inside-out flow mean?
Water enters the center of the cartridge and passes outward, so the dirt stays inside the cartridge when you pull it out.
When should it be changed?
The manufacturer recommends change-out at 15 psid differential pressure.
Is it NSF certified?
Tell us which standard your specification requires. We check certification against the manufacturer's listing for the exact part number, and we don't assume it from the product series.
Can I send another brand's high-flow part number?
Yes. Send us the part number and we'll tell you what we can supply against it.
