What a Product Certification Does and Does Not Cover

Check what is certified, for which product and for which claim. A familiar standard number alone does not answer those questions.

Verify the exact product and claim

Use the current certifier listing and manufacturer literature for the exact model, element or assembled system named in the specification. Check the applicable standard, certified claims, restrictions and installation conditions. Do not transfer a housing or system claim to a cartridge without evidence.

Keep materials and performance separate

Preserve any materials-only qualification in the original statement. Do not turn it into a contaminant-reduction promise. NSF explains that certification to a standard does not mean a product reduces every possible contaminant; specific claims vary by product.

Request evidence for the actual purchase

Provide the certification or documentation requirement in the RFQ. We review what can be provided for the requested item. A prefilter used upstream of treatment does not inherit the downstream system’s treatment claims. No product, certification or document availability is confirmed merely by its presence in our reference catalog.

Send a part number or specification for review

Send us one part number. We'll take it from there.

No account, no minimum, no sales call required to get a number. Tell us what you buy today and we'll come back with available options and case pricing on what we can supply.
