A matching part number identifies what was requested. A different product needs its own comparison and acceptance decision.
Compare more than the micron number
Record whether the rating is nominal or absolute, the stated removal efficiency, test method and operating conditions. Manufacturer terminology varies: two products labeled with the same micron number are not automatically equivalent. Ask for the actual performance data where the specification requires it.

Check identity, fit and application
Compare published length and diameter, end caps, connection or sealing design, gasket and media materials, housing requirements, temperature and pressure limits, and any published flow or pressure-drop conditions. Missing data stays unresolved; do not fill it from a similar model. Dimensions alone do not establish fit, sealing or application suitability.
Document the acceptance decision
Keep the original specification beside the proposed item’s literature. List differences and missing evidence, then follow the buyer’s written alternate-product rules. A supplier cross-reference is supporting information, not an automatic guarantee. FilterBridge uses human review and publishes compatibility claims only when its verification requirements are met.
